The willingness to crave. TED talk by Jonathan Bricker.

I have followed and modeled some of my own work on Jonathan Bricker's research on tobacco cessation. Dr. Bricker recently did a TED talk on "The willingness to crave" which illustrates how Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is an effective intervention for quitting smoking and tobacco use. This also applies to food cravings! I wanted to share this here, as I think he does an excellent job demonstrating what Acceptance and Commitment Therapy looks like in the context of addictions and cravings. 

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Jonathan Bricker's work has uncoved a scientifically sound approach to behavior change that is twice as effective as most currently practiced methods. His new methods are driving new norms and new apps for how people quit smoking and decrease obesity, saving many people from an early death.

If you don't want a craving, you've got it! That tends to be how it works. Willingness to crave and let cravings pass has been shown by Dr. Bricker's research to be twice as effective as avoiding craving. Give it a shot and see what you think.
