About Us

Dr. Yang started small, creating a safe space for women to seek psychotherapy. Balanced Awakening has grown into a vibrant group psychotherapy practice empowering many women every day through psychotherapy!

We also love to be on the cutting-edge of healing modalities, integrating new healing paradigms within and around psychotherapy. We’ve been including the body in psychotherapy through our somatic therapy offerings and continue to expand our somatic therapy services. Imago Relationship Therapy is also the most empowering way that we’ve found to provide deeply healing couples therapy.

It all started in Dr. Yang’s first office of her own in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago, working as a solo practitioner in 2015.

In 2018, the practice grew to include other psychologists on staff, and then psychology postdoctoral residents, and master’s level therapists. In 2020, our admin team started to grow to support our expansion.

Now, in 2025, we are a team of over 30 lovely people, expanding our services in Chicago, throughout the state of IL (telehealth) and into FL (telehealth) with plans to open a physical location in Miami, FL.
