Welcome. I'm so glad you're here.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. It can also feel vulnerable. Choosing to spend time, energy, and attention on yourself isn't always easy, especially when you're used to focusing on everyone else.
I believe that who we are is shaped by our experiences, relationships, and the environments we've moved through. Sometimes we develop ways of coping, thinking, or relating to others that once helped us but no longer serve us in the present. Therapy offers an opportunity to slow down, take a closer look at those patterns, and explore them with curiosity rather than judgment.
My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable being honest about what's working, what's not, and what feels difficult to put into words. Some sessions may focus on making sense of overwhelming emotions or experiences. Others may focus on building practical tools, navigating a decision, or approaching a challenge differently. Wherever you are, we'll start there.
What Brings People to Therapy
Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or unsure of what they need. Some are navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, or major life transitions. Others are carrying experiences from the past that continue to influence how they see themselves and the world around them. I especially enjoy working with teen girls (13+), parents of teenage girls, emerging adults, and new or expecting mothers.
For teens, life can feel overwhelming at times. Therapy can offer a place to work through friendships, family dynamics, self-esteem, academic pressures, and the challenges that come with growing up.
For parents, therapy can provide support as you navigate the complexities of raising a teenager while maintaining connection within your family.
For emerging adults, therapy can be a place to explore identity, relationships, career decisions, independence, and the uncertainty that often comes with entering a new stage of life.
For new and expecting mothers, therapy offers space to process the many emotional, relational, and personal changes that can come with pregnancy, postpartum experiences, and parenthood.
One of the things I value most is helping clients connect the dots between their past and present. When we better understand where our thoughts, emotions, and patterns come from, it often becomes easier to respond to ourselves with compassion and make choices that feel more intentional.
My Approach
I believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you better understand your experiences, recognize patterns that may no longer be serving you, and build on the strengths you already have.
My approach is integrative, strengths-based, and tailored to your unique needs and goals. I draw from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness practices, restorative approaches, and systemic perspectives. Together, we'll build insight, resilience, and practical tools that support meaningful growth.
I am passionate about creating a warm, non-judgmental environment where clients feel comfortable being honest, vulnerable, and fully themselves. Whether you're working through a difficult experience, navigating a life transition, or trying to make sense of emotions that feel overwhelming, my hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel supported, gain a deeper understanding of yourself, and move forward with greater confidence and self-compassion.
Experience
My clinical experience has allowed me to work with individuals and families across a variety of settings, including Chicago Public Schools, outpatient and intensive outpatient programs, and private practice. Working with clients from diverse backgrounds and at different stages of life has deepened my appreciation for the uniqueness of each person's story and reinforced the importance of tailoring therapy to their individual needs and goals.
I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Indiana University and my Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois Chicago.
Licensure
As a Clinical Fellow, I am gaining the necessary experience and supervision to obtain my clinical license (LCSW). I will consistently receive training and education to inform my practice and gain more tools for my clients. I am working under the supervision of Andrea Espinosa, LCSW.
