Welcome! I am a doctoral-level Licensed Clinical Psychologist with nearly ten years of experience helping high-achieving adults navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, perfectionism, burnout, and life transitions. I frequently work with graduate students, young professionals, healthcare workers, and attorneys who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about how to move forward.
I bring empathy, authenticity, and genuine curiosity to every session. Together, we'll explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, deepen your understanding of yourself, and create meaningful, lasting change. My goal is not only to help you navigate today's challenges, but also to build a stronger foundation for the life and relationships you want moving forward.
Specialties
Relationship Therapy
Relationships are one of my greatest clinical passions. I work with individuals navigating challenges with romantic partners, family members, friends, and coworkers. Whether you're struggling with communication, recurring conflict, emotional distance, or the aftermath of a relational rupture, therapy can help you better understand your role in these dynamics and create significant change.
I am trained in the Gottman Method and often integrate relationship-focused tools into my work with individuals. This can be especially valuable if you're participating in couples therapy and want a dedicated space to explore your own experiences and growth. In our work together, we'll strengthen communication, build healthier boundaries, and cultivate relationships that feel more connected, authentic, and fulfilling.
ADHD
I have extensive experience working with young adults with ADHD and understand how frustrating it can be to feel capable of more than you're able to consistently execute. Sessions focus on practical challenges like time management, planning, decision fatigue, behavioral activation, organization, and preventing burnout. We'll identify the obstacles getting in your way and develop strategies that fit your strengths, lifestyle, and goals.
My approach recognizes that ADHD is not a willpower problem. Rather than relying on self-criticism or unrealistic expectations, we'll build systems and skills that work with your brain, helping you feel more confident, effective, and in control of your daily life.
Attorneys & Partners of Attorneys
I bring both clinical expertise and personal familiarity with the legal profession to my work with attorneys and their partners. The demands of a legal career can be immense: long hours, constant pressure to perform, high-stakes decision-making, and a culture that often discourages vulnerability or asking for support. I understand how these pressures can affect not only your well-being, but also your relationships, sense of identity, and ability to be present outside of work.
Whether you're navigating burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, relationship challenges, or a major life transition, therapy can provide a space to step out of survival mode and reconnect with what matters most. It is not uncommon to feel like therapy doesn't fit into the realities of your schedule or profession. We will find a way to make the process both practical and impactful so that the support you receive translates into lasting change.
Students & Young Professionals
Being a young adult is genuinely hard. You may be balancing school or career demands, navigating relationships, making major life decisions, and trying to figure out who you want to be, often all at the same time. I have a particular passion for working with graduate students, mental health professionals, and healthcare workers who are managing high expectations while caring for others. Together, we can explore the stress, self-doubt, perfectionism, and burnout that often accompany these roles.
I aim to help you build a life that feels both meaningful and sustainable. Whether you're navigating a transition, struggling with work-life balance, or feeling overwhelmed by competing demands, therapy can help you reconnect with yourself and clarify your priorities.
Anxiety, Stress, Burnout, and Perfectionism
If you're someone who holds yourself to impossibly high standards, constantly worries about falling short, or feels like your accomplishments never quite feel like enough, you're not alone. I find this work especially meaningful because these patterns are often rewarded professionally while taking a significant toll personally. We'll explore the roots of anxiety and perfectionism, develop tools to manage stress more effectively, and build healthier expectations for yourself.
My intent is to help you perform at a high level without sacrificing your well-being, relationships, or sense of self in the process. Self-care is part of that work, but so is understanding how these patterns developed and learning new ways to relate to yourself with greater flexibility and compassion.
My Approach
I am a collaborative, insight-oriented therapist who believes notable change begins with greater self-understanding. I ask thoughtful questions, offer honest observations, and work alongside you to explore the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be shaping your life. My approach is strengths-based, culturally sensitive, and tailored to your unique goals and needs.
I draw from several evidence-based approaches, depending on what will be most helpful for you:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps identify and shift patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be keeping you stuck.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions while building a life aligned with your values.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) teaches practical skills for managing emotions, navigating distress, and improving relationships.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) helps strengthen motivation for change by exploring what matters most to you.
The Gottman Method informs my work with relationship concerns, helping clients better understand communication patterns, conflict, and connection.
I believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative, authentic, and grounded in a strong therapeutic relationship. My role is not to tell you who to be, but to help you better understand yourself and move toward the life you want to create.
Experience
Over the past ten years, I have provided individual, group, couples, and family therapy across college counseling centers and private practice settings. I completed my doctoral internship at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Counseling Center and my postdoctoral residency here at Balanced Awakening. I have had the privilege of working with clients from a wide range of racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, across the full lifespan, from children and adolescents to adults and older adults.
