Is life driving you bananas? Let’s shake it up and create a new dance together!
I’m a humanistic therapist who values building a supportive and collaborative relationship with my clients. My style is client-centered and goal-oriented, with a strong emphasis on expressive arts, play therapy, and mindfulness. My goal is to empower you to embrace your voice, find joy, and create meaningful new narratives for your life.
I consider myself a behaviorist rather than a psychoanalyst, which means my work is focused on taking action in the present rather than dwelling on the past (though we can explore past experiences when it’s helpful). I also provide practical tools, such as resources, homework, and practices like breathing and movement exercises, to support your progress outside of our sessions. I’m also fully bicultural and bilingual in Spanish.
My primary therapeutic approach is Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which emphasizes skill-building, self-awareness, acceptance, and new ways of moving forward. I also integrate Narrative Therapy, which helps you reframe the stories you tell about yourself, opening new opportunities for growth and healing. When appropriate, I may draw from Carl Jung’s Archetypal approach, which emphasizes balance by exploring both the light and dark aspects of life, encouraging you to recognize and integrate all sides of your experiences as you reshape your personal story.
Dance/Movement Therapy & somatic integration
As a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist*, I use dance and movement as pathways to healing, helping clients connect with their bodies and process emotions that may feel “stuck” or difficult to put into words. This embodied approach allows clients to explore new ways of understanding themselves, release built-up tension, and cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness.
In addition to dance and movement, I often integrate practices such as deep breathing, mindfulness, journaling, relaxation techniques, music, and other expressive arts. Together, these approaches foster insight, encourage emotional release, and promote holistic healing, supporting both mind and body throughout the therapeutic process.
*The American Dance Therapy Association defines Dance/Movement Therapy as: “the psychotherapeutic use of dance, movement, body awareness, and embodied communication to foster healing and well-being for all individuals, families and communities (www.adta.org)
Imago Relationship Therapy
As an Imago Therapist in training, I facilitate the Imago Dialogue for couples for the co-creation of intentional relationships that heal.
