Therapy has been an essential part of my own healing journey, and it is an honor to walk alongside clients as they discover their own paths toward expansive and resilient wellness. Simply considering therapy is no small feat, and I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to reach out. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or searching for something difficult to name, you don't have to navigate it alone.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, curious individuals who spend a lot of time asking big questions. You may be navigating depression, burnout, or anxiety rooted in questions about identity, purpose, belonging, or the kind of life you want to build. I especially enjoy working with college students, graduate students, academics, and other high-achieving adults who feel weighed down by perfectionism, academic burnout, or the expectations they've carried for years. Therapy offers a space to step outside those pressures and reconnect with yourself on your own terms.
I also work with LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and multicultural clients exploring different parts of their identity. Whether you're making sense of your cultural background, gender, sexuality, neurodivergence, disability, or another part of who you are, I believe healing begins with having a space where every part of you is welcomed rather than explained away. My approach is grounded in a systems-aware, strengths-based perspective that recognizes how family, culture, history, and oppressive systems shape our experiences while honoring your resilience, values, and unique story.
I deeply believe healing happens through safety, collaboration, and trust. Therapy shouldn't feel like someone telling you how to live your life. Instead, we'll move at a pace that feels right for you, openly discussing what is and isn't working while shaping our work together as your needs evolve. My role is to create a space where curiosity, reflection, and self-understanding can grow. Inspired by Narrative Therapy, Queer Feminist Theory, Gestalt Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), I strive to honor every part of who you are. While therapy may include processing grief, trauma, or painful experiences, I also believe healing makes room for joy, creativity, and play. Depending on what feels meaningful to you, our work may include art, music, movement, games, or other creative approaches alongside traditional talk therapy. I have seen how creativity can help us express what feels difficult to put into words and reconnect with ourselves in new ways.
My hope is that therapy helps you cultivate greater self-compassion, self-acceptance, and trust in your own capacity. I believe you are the expert on your own experience, and I would be honored to support you as you build a life that feels more authentic, aligned, and true to who you are.
Experience
I have worked as a clinical therapist with both adolescents and adults whose struggles included living with symptoms of PMDD, Borderline Personality Disorder, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, GAD, disordered eating, substance use, childhood trauma, and dissociative disorders. I’ve had the honor to support clients exploring their sexual, gender, racial, disability, neurodivergent and autism identities. My work with clients has also included exploring relational issues, family of origin dynamics, life transitions, social justice/activism, and acculturation stress. During my NBCC Minority Fellowship, I experienced trainings focused on the use of Motivational Interviewing with marginalized groups and developed skills to continuously pursue working from an anti-racist, neurodiversity-affirming, anti-oppressive, body-neutral, sex/poly/kink-positive and anti-ableist lens. In my role as the coordinator of BrainstormLIVE, a neurocounseling webinar, I learned about deep interconnectedness of the mind and body informing my holistic approach to this work. My research interests include de-pathologizing the community-born, social justice-motivated tools for healing in the Chicago Latine-led queercore DIY punk scene.
In my previous lines of work, I taught neurodivergent high school and college students and helped them navigate traditional school systems. I also worked as a caregiver for folks with cerebral palsy and traumatic brain injuries.
I have experience in the non-profit sector supporting the development of community events exploring intergenerational and historical trauma through arts and somatic work for the Asian-American and Japanese American Chicagoland communities.
