Kim Bachelor, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in the support of couples and primary romantic relationships. I am passionate about the positive impact healthy connections can have on our mental and physical well-being, and I believe that relationship growth and healing are possible when we have the ability to  authentically communicate our thoughts and feelings with one another. As a relationship therapist, I strive to provide a welcoming environment where every individual feels accepted, respected, and safe.

As a certified Imago Relationship therapist, I have received specialized training to assist couples in developing mutually satisfying and deeply loving relationships. Imago Therapy provides a structured framework that enables couples to safely discuss, explore, and better understand the issues impacting their connection. My work with supporting relationships has created crucial insight into understanding how past wounds may impact present relationships and how conflicts can be transformed into opportunities for growth and connection. Through this unique structure and a focus on safe, honest, and empathetic communication, couples will be able to explore relationship dynamics and develop effective strategies for communication, intimacy, and conflict resolution.

I foster trusting relationships with clients by providing compassion, honesty, and a non-judgmental space to explore personal and interpersonal challenges. My therapeutic approach is rooted in psychotherapy research and neuroscience, which provides insight into the human experience and informs my understanding of how the brain’s evolution has impacted how humans think, feel, behave, and relate to others. I have worked with individuals and families facing a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, grief, loss, life transitions, and trauma. I have supported couples working through broken trust, exploring changes in sexuality, and preparing for and adjusting to major life changes. My goal is for clients to gain a sense of control and understanding over any issues that may be hindering their success within relationships.

Experience

I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing direct care to children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. I have held positions in medical and community-based settings, as well as shelter environments, which allowed me to support clients facing a diverse set of issues. My work has provided me with opportunities to assist clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds and develop a deep understanding of the complexities associated with culture and mental health. My extensive training and experience have fostered a deep appreciation for the human experience and how I can best support others.
