Psychotherapy is a great opportunity for deep and long-term healing so that you’re able to live your best life.

  • There are many different types of psychotherapy. Our therapists each have their own style and approach to therapy. Many of our therapists use a mindfulness-based approach in conjunction with modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Some of our therapists integrate psychodynamic theory, or treatments like EMDR, Safe and Sound Protocol, and Internal Family Systems into their work with clients. If there’s a certain type of psychotherapy you’re looking for, we can help match you with a therapist who specializes in it.

  • Everyone can benefit from psychotherapy, but if you’re feeling down, have low energy, or like life is just too hard - psychotherapy is right for you. It’s a service that allows you to thrive and feel great in your life.

  • In individual psychotherapy, your therapist will offer you a safe, welcoming space for you to explore your blocks, patterns, and emotional landscape. In this space, you and your therapist will create a relationship that allows you to develop a deep and compassionate understanding of yourself, others, your life, and the world around you.

  • The cost of psychotherapy varies. Self-pay sessions range from $195-$289. The cost of psychotherapy may also be covered by insurance. We accept BCBS PPO plans in our Chicago location.

  • Absolutely! We offer virtual psychotherapy sessions that take place over live video between you and your therapist. These are just as effective as in-person sessions.

  • Yes! Holistic therapy takes into account the whole person. It is an integrated approach that addresses your mind, body, and spirit.

  • Art therapy can work for anyone! In particular, art therapy is a great fit for clients who yearn for more creativity in their lives, are ready to process trauma or distressing memories and find talking about it difficult/impossible, or simply want to see if this form of therapy is a better fit for them than talk therapy.

  • Our therapy sessions are 55 minutes.

  • Typically we see clients weekly, but the pace is totally in your control.

  • The length of time you spend in therapy depends on the extent and depth of the work that you wish you do. You can spend as little or as long as you would like working with a therapist.

  • We have many therapists to choose from so that you can find the perfect fit for you. Each therapist has a bio on our website that gives you insight into what it will be like to work with that therapist. We also offer matchmaking services to help you select a therapist that’s right for you.

  • Yes! Dr. Yang offers virtual services in Florida and can arrange for in-person sessions in Miami.

  • Yes! We offer in-person therapy in Chicago at our Lakeview, Andersonville, and Downtown/Loop offices.

  • Yes! All of our providers offer virtual therapy in Illinois.

  • Dr. Yang specializes in working with creative, intuitive women who are looking for an integrative psychotherapist who can pull from all facets of life to empower them even further on their healing journey.

    Dr. Yang works best with women who would like to incorporate spirituality, body based healing, and any/all facets of life into psychotherapy. Dr. Yang can zoom out to see the big picture of how things in your life affect each other, as well as zoom in to help you identify small adjustments you could make to feel better.

    Dr. Yang’s background as a psychologist is in third wave CBT, which is built upon by her experience in breathwork, spiritual exploration, Feng Shui, and more.

  • You should look for a therapist who resonates with you. After looking at the therapists we have available to work with you, we recommend that you trust your instincts. If the therapist you select isn’t a good fit for you, we’re happy to work with you to find one who is.

  • Yes, with some exceptions. Providers within the practice are able to discuss your care with other providers in the practice in order to provide the best care for you. Similarly, some of our providers are under supervision and regularly speak with their supervisor about their client sessions. Otherwise, there are 3 situations where we would have to break your confidentiality. These include if we learn of any potential child or elder abuse from you, we determine that you are at risk of harming yourself or someone else, or we receive a court order for your medical records.

  • That’s common! Our therapists are skilled at meeting you where you’re at and moving at a pace that feels right for you.

  • Your first session of Art Therapy will be a time for your therapist to get to know you. During art therapy, you may leverage several different art materials, such as paint, clay, collage imagery, fibers, and more, depending on your interest or comfort level. Your art therapist may make art alongside you or collaborate with you on artwork if you would like that support. You may also talk during the session and also use the time to verbally process the art you create.

  • If it’s an emergency, dial 9-1-1. However, if they need help and it’s not an emergency, we would love to connect them with psychotherapy services.

  • Yes! We are currently offering two groups. We have a group specifically for new moms and a group focused on empowerment for Hispanic women

  • Any good relationship can take time to build! This is also unique to each individual person. However, one sign that your therapist is a good fit is that you feel good about the work you’re doing together. The work won’t always be easy, but it’s a good fit if you can see the benefits and progress you’re making together.

  • You will notice shifts in your daily life. You may find problems are easier to solve, that you’re less bothered by things that you used to get hung up on, or you might find it easier to acknowledge and hold space for your emotions. There are a lot of ways you can tell therapy is working and most of them involve that you start to feel better! It will take some time, effort, and a willingness to look at the big picture of your life. Some shifts will be ground-breaking and some will be more subtle–therapy is working if you can start to celebrate both small and big progress!

  • Yes! Our therapists take your whole person (mind, body, spirit) into account when working with you.

  • Yes, your therapist will be able to give you resources for navigating a crisis. We will speak with you during your session about what to do when in an emotional crisis.

  • No preparation needed! All we ask is that you come with an open mind.
