BALANCED AWAKENING COLLECTIVE

Foundations of a Conscious Relationship

Gentle, practical tools for building a more fulfilling, grounded, and intentional relationship.

A self-paced, six-part relationship course with Dr. Hannah Yang, rooted in Imago Relationship Therapy and designed to help you understand your patterns, create greater emotional safety, communicate more intentionally, and stay connected through the everyday realities of loving another person.

Six video modules + companion workbook ยท Included with the Balanced Awakening Collective

If you love each other, why can connection still feel so hard sometimes?

Maybe things that seem small turn into arguments neither of you intended.

One of you gets defensive while the other pushes harder to be understood.

You find yourselves arguing about tone, timing, dishes, plansโ€”or who said whatโ€”when somehow it feels like something much bigger is happening underneath.

Or maybe nothing is terribly wrong.

You simply want to understand each other better.

Relationships bring together two people with different histories, sensitivities, needs, protective patterns, and ways of reaching for connection.

And sometimes those differences get activated precisely because the relationship matters so much.

The goal isnโ€™t to eliminate every difficult moment.

Itโ€™s to understand whatโ€™s happening underneath those momentsโ€”and learn how to meet each other with more awareness, safety, and intention.

A more conscious relationship can start with small shifts.

You donโ€™t need to overhaul your relationship to begin relating differently.

In this course, Dr. Hannah Yang draws from her training in Imago Relationship Therapy to break conscious relationship principles into gentle, bite-sized lessons you can apply in your own life and relationship.

Move through it on your own or alongside your partner, at whatever pace feels useful.

Six short modules. Practical exercises. Small shifts you can actually practice in real life.

You might find this course helpful ifโ€ฆ

โค๏ธ You love each other, but sometimes get pulled into the same arguments or reactions.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Small disagreements can become bigger than either of you intended.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ One of you tends to pursue while the other becomes defensive, overwhelmed, or pulls away.

๐Ÿ‘‚ Youโ€™d like to listen to each other without immediately fixing, correcting, or defending.

๐ŸŒฟ You want to understand why certain things feel especially sensitive in your relationship.

๐Ÿค You want conflict to feel less threatening and more understandable.

โœจ Your relationship is doing well, but you want to be more intentional about protecting and deepening your connection.

You donโ€™t need a relationship crisis to learn how to relate more consciously.

And you donโ€™t need your partner to take the course with you. You can move through it on your own or explore the practices together.

Inside Foundations of a Conscious Relationship

  • โค๏ธ Why We Love the Way We Do

Explore your early relational blueprint and how past experiences can quietly shape what feels familiar, safe, threatening, or connecting in adult relationships.

  • ๐Ÿซถ Emotional Safety

Understand what helps a relationship feel emotionally safeโ€”and how tone, pacing, curiosity, and a gentle start can change the feel of difficult conversations.

  • ๐ŸŒฟ Intentionality

Learn to create a little more space between what you feel and how you respond, so old reactions donโ€™t have to determine what happens next.

  • ๐Ÿ‘‚ Listening to Understand

Practice listening with curiosity rather than fixing or defendingโ€”and learn how simple reflection and validation can help both partners feel more understood.

  • ๐Ÿ’ฌ Conflict as Information

Begin looking beneath reactive moments to recognize the needs, fears, vulnerabilities, and longings that may be trying to get your attention.

  • โœจ Everyday Connection Habits

Build connection through small, repeatable habits like appreciation, rituals of connection, softer communication, and intentionally noticing whatโ€™s already going well.

Your Foundations Companion Workbook

Learning about your relationship is one thing. Bringing that awareness into your actual life is another.

Your course also includes an eight-page companion workbook designed to help you slow down, reflect, and experiment with what youโ€™re learning.

For each of the six modules, youโ€™ll find:

Tiny Wins

One small, concrete practice to try in everyday lifeโ€”from experimenting with a softer start to pausing for three breaths before responding or offering one simple appreciation.

Optional Reflections

Gentle prompts for noticing your own patterns, needs, reactions, strengths, and opportunities for growth.

Optional Partner Shares

Simple conversation starters you can bring into your relationship if and when it feels useful.

What if conflict isnโ€™t proof that something is wrong?

A lot of us carry an unspoken idea about good relationships:

If weโ€™re right for each other, this shouldnโ€™t be so hard.

So when conflict appears, itโ€™s easy to wonder:

Why are we fighting about this again?

Why canโ€™t they understand me?

Are we just too different?

But conflict is part of closeness.

When a relationship becomes emotionally important, it also becomes a place where our sensitivities, fears, needs, and longings can surface.

The dishes may be real.

The tone may matter.

The plans may genuinely need to be figured out.

But often thereโ€™s something underneath the surface issue:

I want to know that I matter to you.

I want to feel heard.

Iโ€™m afraid Iโ€™ve disappointed you.

Iโ€™m overwhelmed and donโ€™t know how to stay in this conversation.

Learning to recognize that deeper layer doesnโ€™t make conflict disappear.

It gives you another way to understand whatโ€™s happening between you.

Conscious relationship can sound like:

I can be curious about the pattern instead of blaming the person.

I can slow down before I respond.

I can listen without immediately fixing or defending.

I can look for the need underneath the reaction.

We can disagree and still remember that weโ€™re on the same team.

We donโ€™t have to get it perfect. We can learn how to come back to each other.

Why I created Foundations of a Conscious Relationship

Relationship work can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Thereโ€™s attachment to understand, communication strategies to learn, family histories to unpack, nervous-system patterns to recognizeโ€”and suddenly having a healthier relationship starts to feel like another enormous project.

I wanted to create something gentler.

Foundations of a Conscious Relationship brings the work back to a handful of ideas that can meaningfully change how you understand yourself and your partner.

Why do we react the way we do?

What helps us feel safe enough to stay connected?

Can I pause before responding automatically?

Can I listen to understand instead of preparing my defense?

Whatโ€™s underneath this conflict?

What small habits help us keep finding each other in ordinary life?

Each module gives you one small practice you can experiment with in the real world, with the companion workbook there when youโ€™d like to go a little deeper.

Take the course on your own or alongside your partner. Move through it in order or return to a particular idea when you need it.

Conscious partnership isnโ€™t a destination. Itโ€™s an ongoing practice of seeing, understanding, and meeting each other with presence.

This is one place to begin.
