BALANCED AWAKENING COLLECTIVE
The Body’s Yes & No
A gentle, somatic approach to recognizing your boundaries and building greater self-trust.
A self-paced, three-part mini-course with Dr. Hannah Yang designed to help you notice how Yes and No show up in your body, become more familiar with your own internal signals, and bring that awareness into everyday choices, relationships, and conversations.
Three short video practices + companion workbook · Included with the Balanced Awakening Collective
If boundaries feel hard, what if the problem isn’t that you’re bad at them?
Maybe you say yes before you’ve had a chance to figure out what you actually want.
You agree to something—and only afterward notice the heaviness, tension, or resentment.
You know intellectually that you’re allowed to say no, but in the moment, your own needs can become difficult to hear.
Or maybe you’re so accustomed to considering everyone else that the question What do I want? feels surprisingly hard to answer.
Boundaries aren’t only something we communicate.
They can begin much earlier—with subtle signals from the body.
A softening.
A tightening.
A sense of openness.
A pull backward.
A breath that suddenly feels easier—or harder.
The goal isn’t to obey every sensation.
It’s to become familiar enough with your own signals that you can notice them before automatically overriding them.
Your body may already know more than you realize.
You don’t need to become perfectly confident at saying no before you can begin practicing boundaries differently.
In this course, Dr. Hannah Yang guides you through a gentle exploration of the body’s Yes and No—helping you slow down enough to notice the sensations that may accompany openness, hesitation, ease, contraction, or withdrawal.
You’ll practice recognizing those signals first in simple, low-stakes situations, then begin bringing that awareness into everyday choices and interactions.
Three short videos. Simple somatic practices. A different place to begin with boundaries: your own body.
You might find this course helpful if…
🌱 You often say yes automatically and realize later that you didn’t really want to.
💭 You tend to second-guess yourself when deciding what feels right for you.
🤝 You’re accustomed to considering other people’s needs before checking in with your own.
🫁 You notice physical reactions—tightness, heaviness, fogginess, openness, warmth—but aren’t always sure what they’re telling you.
⏸️ You’d like to create more space between being asked for something and giving your answer.
🗣️ You know what a boundary is, but putting one into words can still feel difficult.
✨ You want to build greater trust in your own internal cues without pressuring yourself to get them “right.”
You don’t have to act on every signal your body gives you.
You’re simply learning how to hear yourself more clearly.

What if you didn’t have to know your answer immediately?
Someone asks you for a favor.
An invitation arrives.
A work request lands in your inbox.
Someone you care about needs emotional support.
And sometimes the answer leaves your mouth before you’ve even checked in with yourself.
Sure.
Of course.
That’s fine.
I can do that.
Only later does something else appear.
The tension.
The heaviness.
The exhaustion.
The quiet realization:
I didn’t actually want to say yes.
Your body may have been part of the conversation before your mind caught up.
Learning to notice that doesn’t mean every uncomfortable sensation is a No—or every feeling of openness is automatically a Yes.
It gives you one more source of information.
And sometimes, even a two-second pause is enough to make room for it.
Somatic boundaries can sound like:
I can pause before I answer.
I can notice what happens in my body when I’m asked for something.
I don’t have to override a signal just because it’s inconvenient.
I can let uncertainty be information, too.
I can take time before deciding what I’m available for.
I don’t have to have perfect boundaries. I can practice listening to myself.
Why I created The Body’s Yes & No
Boundaries are often taught as something we need to say.
How to say no.
How to be more assertive.
How to communicate what we need.
Those skills matter.
But sometimes there’s an earlier problem:
We don’t actually know what our Yes or No is yet.
If you’ve spent years accommodating, complying, anticipating other people’s needs, or overriding your own discomfort, your internal signals may feel quiet, confusing, or difficult to trust.
I wanted to create something that begins there.
Not with forcing yourself to become more assertive.
Not with a list of boundary scripts to memorize.
But with curiosity.
What happens in my body when something feels good to me?
What happens when something doesn’t?
Where do I soften?
Where do I tighten?
What changes when I give myself a moment before responding?
The practices in this course are intentionally simple. You can return to them again and again as you become more familiar with your own patterns.
You don’t have to force yourself into clarity. You can begin by listening.
This is one place to begin.
